Top Ten for Wireless in IMRO Awards
Wireless Irish Radio Stations took home ten glorious gongs in the prestigious IMRO Awards on Friday night (5 October). CEO of FM104/Q102 Margaret Nelson was also formally inducted into the IMRO Hall of Fame during the awards ceremony.
Limerick’s Live 95FM won a prestigious Gold award for its emotive “Remembering Dolores” documentary, which focused on the passing of The Cranberry’s lead singer and Limerick native, Dolores O'Riordan. Picking up another Gold was Cork’s 96FM for its brilliant Opinion Line show with PJ Coogan.
Silver awards on the night went to Dublin’s FM104 for The Aslan Music Special, to Cork’s 96FM for the KC & Ross Breakfast Show and winning its second gong of the evening was Cork’s 96FM’s Opinion Line.
Picking up Bronze in the categories of Station Imaging and Entertainment Inserts was FM104. Bronze awards also went to KC (of KC & Ross) for Music Broadcaster and for it’s annual Giving for Living Radiothon on 96FM, the station won Bronze in the category of Community/Social action. LMFM won Bronze for Local Station of the Year.
